About New York Walking Tours by Locals
We are Lower Manhattan Tours – Your Local Neighborhood Tour Experts.
Our New York walking tours takes places in Lower Manhattan.
Also called Downtown New York, the financial district or Wall Street.
We started in 2007, when owner and founder, Annaline Dinkelmann, became a tour guide. In 2008 I started Wall Street Walks and focused on the Stock Market and Wall Street tours.
During 2008 there were lots of construction in Lower Manhattan. Many buildings in the financial district area was undergoing renovation / construction / rebuilding to convert empty offices into apartment buildings.
Then the 911 Memorial was still Ground Zero, a large hole in the ground. Post 911 clean-up and repairs still going on.
We saw the transformation of the neighborhood, while giving walking tours.
We saw how empty spaces turned into office towers, apartment buildings and parks. Some of these new buildings are architectural master pieces.
- What was Ground Zero is now the 911 Memorial Plaza.
- The Memorial Waterfalls now fills the holes left by the Twin Towers.
- We witnessed the rebirth of the World Trade Center site.
Our Wall Street walking tours start on Wall Street and used to end at Trinity Church area. Over the years we changed the last stop on our tours about 5 times. We kept taking groups closer and closer to the 911 Memorial site that was changing.
In 2015 we expanded our tours. We began leading walking tours focusing on the 911 Memorial and World Trade Center area only.
As Downtown New York has changed, so are we. We are busy morphing from Wall Street Walks into Lower Manhattan Tours.
We have 3 main areas that we focus our New York walking tours on:
- Wall Street walking tours
- The 911 Memorial walking tours
- Architecture walking tours
When you join a New York walking tour you get it all – adventure, scenery, local color, good exercise and fun.
I believe that our walking tours are crucial to experience Lower Manhattan.
Thank you for stopping by. I hope to see you on one our tours.
